Biography

Stars is a critically acclaimed Canadian band that has been captivating audiences with their unique blend of indie pop and dreamy synth-rock since their formation in 2000. The band was formed in Toronto, Ontario and consists of five talented members - Torquil Campbell, Amy Millan, Evan Cranley, Chris Seligman, and Pat McGee.
Before coming together as Stars, each member had already established themselves in the Canadian music scene. Torquil Campbell had been involved in various musical projects, including the band Memphis, while Amy Millan had been an integral part of the indie rock band, Broken Social Scene. Evan Cranley had found success as part of the alternative-rock group, The Saddletramps, while Chris Seligman and Pat McGee had both been involved in the indie-pop outfit, Montag.
Stars' debut album, "Nightsongs," was released in 2001 and immediately garnered attention with its ethereal soundscapes and introspective lyrics.
