Kandle

Biography

Kandle's music journey is a tale of resilience, from facing skepticism about her abilities due to her musical lineage to achieving critical acclaim with her debut EP. The contrast between her public image and the industry struggles she faced became evident in her debut record, 'In Flames,' which delved into serious issues amidst personal battles with bad contracts. 'Holy Smoke' marked a period of confinement, legal battles, and a toll on her mental health.

Despite these challenges, Kandle's unwavering love for music kept her going. During a period of nomadism and homelessness, she continued writing and collaborating with friends who shared a genuine passion for the art. This tumultuous time culminated in the release of the EP 'Stick Around And Find Out' in 2020, where she began to reclaim her artistic autonomy.

Now, with her latest full-length record, 'Set The Fire,' Kandle is redefining her narrative. Collaborating with producer Michael Rendall, she took control of her ideas, producing vulnerable and bold work that captures a sixties sonic essence. The album reflects her empowered state, a departure from the dark and angry tone of her previous works.

'Set The Fire' serves as a visceral portrait of reclaiming power after being broken, rediscovering strengths, and embracing newfound confidence. Kandle's story, embedded in her music, is a testament to the transformative power of resilience, emphasizing the ability to rise from challenging circumstances. Through her art, she embodies the strength to overcome adversity and shape her own narrative in the music industry.
